i own an original xbox and i have to admit that i wasnt happy when microsoft decided to sell the hard drive seperately this time around. because like every other review you’ll read, it’s better than a memory card and you need it in order to play your old games and download new content, rip music, stuff like that. i was also thrilled when i saw you could download game demos from xbox live, and i wasnt worried about their size (the demos very from about half a GB to around 1GB) so i started downloading loads of demos so i could choose which game to buy next. so after downloading all these demos, i checked the space on my hard drive.

this is where microsoft really lost their kudos to me. although it says on every site that includes the hard drive, that the hard drive is 20GB. its not. the Hard Drive for the Xbox 360 is ONLY 13GB. did you get that? so im not sure where microsoft comes off telling everyone that they’re paying for a 20GB hard drive when they’re only getting three quarters of what they actually paid for.

other than that, the item IS necessary if you’re a gamer. and it makes playing your 360 a lot more convenient, but dont be dissapointed when you get it and you find out its only 13GB.
